Kiln Warranties
The kilns we sell rarely have any problems. But in case
they do, you want to feel secure in your purchase.
Kilns are warranted by the manufacturer (usually for 2-3
years). In most cases this means they will pay for parts needed
during the warranty period. Sometimes they will pay labor as
well. But what does that mean to you? What actually happens
if you have a problem?
Usually what happens is that a kiln technician (either at the
manufacturer, or the dealer who sold you the kiln, or a local dealer),
will talk with you about the symptoms the kiln is having, make some
suggestions, and determine whether there is a defective part. You
will return the part and they will walk you though installing a
replacement part. Or your part will be repaired and then
re-installed on your kiln.
If you purchase from us, you will be assisted by our staff, which
includes a degreed mechanical and electrical engineer. We
can answer any of your questions, help you
diagnose problems, and guide you though any necessary repairs to kilns that you
purchase from us. This is probably equal to or better than
service you will get from a local store. Just email us at support@bigceramicstore.com
. It doesn't get much easier.
In addition, if you prefer, you may be able to take a suspected bad
part to a local dealer for repair or replacement even if you did not
purchase the kiln there. Many dealers will repair kilns purchased
elsewhere.
Still, sometimes people feel more secure buying a kiln from a local
store, and it can be nice, IF you are buying from a
reputable place that has the knowledge and desire to assist you.
But if you one of these people considering buying locally, please look
closely at type of service your local store will
provide. Ask a lot of questions. Talk to previous
customers. Will they do everything you are expecting?
