200 Mesh Silica, also known as potter's flint, is used primarily in clay bodies and glazes.
It raises the melting point of glazes, and decreases thermal expansion.
By contrast, it will increase thermal expansion in clays.
Compared to regular quartz, it has been cooled much faster, and this results in small, fine crystals that have no preferred way of breaking.
