Collection: Kiln Parts - Pyrometers
A pyrometer is an instrument used for measuring temperature. There are currently two kinds of pyrometers: analog and digital. An analog pyrometer provides basic temperature indication for the full pottery range and is recommended for tracking general heat use. Because it uses a needle gauge, it only gives you an approximate temperature and not the exact temperature in the kiln. However, it is still sometimes preferred for its lower costs. On the other hand, digital pyrometers have the advantage of giving the exact temperature reading inside the kiln. It is recommended for precise glaze control and is more convenient than anything else. Digital pyrometers come in a few configurations and can be hand held or wall mounted with a bracket.
