Laguna Zinc Oxide

Zinc Oxide, alternately known by the names zinc white, Chinese white, and flowers of zinc, is widely used as an additive in many materials, including rubbers, ceramics, glass, adhesives, pigments, and foods.

It a desirable material in ceramics, owing to its relatively high heat capacity, thermal conductivity, high temperature stability, and low coefficient of expansion.

In small amounts, it improves the development of glossy surface, but in higher and even moderate amounts, it produces matte surfaces.

It also may be used to opacify glazes.
